Signs that I have been in Cina for too long

Signs that I have been in Cina for too long:
1. Parts of my dream are now in mandarin.
2. I find myself listening to mandarin songs, and enjoy listening to them.
3. I have a large collection of not so legal DVDs enough to start a store back home.
4. Look left first instead of right when crossing the road.

Feeling Surreal

Ok... Hello peeps. I know that I have not been updating my blog in a very long time, and probably would take a very long time till I write my next entry, but the chain of events which happened to me yesterday was so surreal. It's too good to be true and I have to pen it down as one of those priceless moments.

The day,Saturday, 30 September 2006 started off as usual, where my presence was required at work. I got in on time, did some work and expected to work the whole night through, but there was some operations issues and were given the green light to leave. Guess lady luck was on our side.

Upon hearing our good fortune, we packed our bags and left the office as we were losing day light. It was about 5:30pm then. Usually it would take no more than 5-10 minutes to hail a cab, but yesterday proved to be a challenge. Every other cab was either occupied or there would be someone else beating us to it.

We finally got to our destination at about 6:30pm, Din Tai Fung, which serves one of the best Xiao Long Pao's in Shanghai. The place it self deserves an entry by itself, but let's not deviate from the topic. We ate as usual, and I would normally be stuffed before the final dish arrived, but last night I was craving for more and that proved to be a bad decision because we had to wait for an additional 30 minutes for the dish to arrive.

When we decided to leave, the time was about 8:00pm and since there was no agenda for the night, we decided to go to the Fake goods store down town.

We got there at approximately 8:30pm, and went browsing through the stores. Until one particular store, we noticed a big crowd outside with the shutters down. Being guys, we joined in the crowd and was told that Michael Schumacher was in there behind the 'secret room'. My very first thoughts was, ' What?? Schumacher here? Why would he want to buy fake goods??!?!' Whipped out my handphone and got ready to take his photo. One particular foreigner whom must be at least 6"2 said there were lots of paparazis outside was amongts the crowd, so it somewhat confirmed his suspicion.
ok... so, after waiting for about 10 mins, we decided to proceed to other shops as the crowd was starting to get rowdy. I was thinking to myself, that cant be the MAN in there, no way he would be buying fakes. We walked for a good 10 minutes, and suddenly found ourselves walking towards the commotion again (still clutching my handphone) , but this time, it was a different scene. Suddenly, there people started running towards us, and before I could really blink, there he was.. The fastest driver on the planet, no other than Michael Schumacher himself, running towards me, staring at me, in my face, with a good 50 people behind him, approaching fast. Instinctively, I ran next to him, by his side. Ok, now the weirdest part of all. Michael Schumacher suddenly grab hold of my hand. No, I'm not kidding. He held my hand, and out of no where, he was holding my crappy N70 handphone and I said to him, "Heyyyyy... that's my handphoneeeeeeee'', and he let it go, and I gave him two quick pats on his back and said, Hey, good job Michael, and the disappeared into crowd, into a champagne Maserati

What a day has it been. It's not everyday I get see MS, what more give him a pat on his back. It's one of those priceless moments that I will cherish forever and hopefully one day I relate this story to my grandchildren. And like the title suggest, I am still feeling very surreal by the chain of events.

p/s: I still don't know the reason why he's there, but I have my reservations that he's there for fakes..

More photos

Finally found the time to upload all of my photos of Japan, at DC's expense... hehe

I was at Yadobashi camera store trying to kill some time and I stumbled upon this killer lens.

It probably costs more than a Kancil back home and it was left lying on the counter. It was so heavy that I almost dropped it!

I see you!

Japan

Hey peeps... I am back and doing well.. Still recouperating from my trip to Japan where I went there for 8 days, and covered Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto and Nara. Overall the trip was fantastic - good food and company, weather was superb, timing was to precision. cant really complain, other than I walked for an average of 4 hours a day. For those of you whom know Osaka well, I walked from Namba to Umeda, which is from South of Osaka all the way to North of Osaka.. dont ask me how far that is, but my legs were aching after that stint.

here are some of the photos of Japan.. I still havent gotten around to upload them all cos the rest are in RAW format, and dont really have Photoshop in my PC

hmm.. Arsenal vs Wigan match is on now, so i am gonna catch the match, till then, come check this page everyday :P

Spring is here!

Yayyyy! Spring is finally here...

1.dont need to carry my bulky jacket around anymore
2.dont have to freeze my hands everytime i wash them(they dont install water heaters in the toilets)
3.skin doesnt feel that dry anymore
4. get to see chicks in less clothing

Speaking about point 4,. I would like to eat back my words on the comment I made earlier.. Suzhou girls are really living up to reputation.. now that I have the weekends off, I have opening my eyes wider than a Sony WEGA , and the babes here are pretty darn hot, excellent complexion and also nice asses! ahaha.. the cycling must have done them good..

*edit*
And speakin about cycling, I almost bought myself a bicycle for 100RMB. I was at the Humble Administrator Garden, and after visiting the place, I didnt really have much to anything to do.. So, I was walking along the street, and there were bicycles for sale. The idea of riding a bike in CHina was quite exciting and this is probably the only chance I will get.. but in the end, I chickend out la.. If i had done so, it would be one of the most spontaneous acts done.

Alrite.. I gonna go for my dinner, and for a massage... ciao!

It's Snowinggggg

Hurry, wake up the kids and brew some coffee, its snowing today!! It was starting to get warmer since last week, and suddenly the weather chagned and it gotten colder and now snowing.. Managed to take some photos but didnt bring my cable to work.. so the photos will have to wait.

On the other note, work has been gradually reducing since this week, which was a good thing cause we used to break off at 10pm everynight, 6 days a week.. now we get to break off at 8pm, which is a luxury.

I have concluded that the only english song Channel V airs here is Maroon 5, This love, from the Friday the 13th album. Every single time I watch the channel and wait for an english song, This Love comes on. and its been like that for 3-4 days in a row. Or they have it on repeat..

My colleagues either be returning to KL or Japan this weekend, which means taht I am left here all alone..so, i will just visit the 'Cheonging' places like Point Zero or Dream Hollywood.. and definitely Baido..
