Presentations, Foot Massage and all alone for dinner

Back by popular demand, we were requested to conduct the second round of interview. This time, I didn't have the luxury to inflict more misery to the candidates as it was a aptitude test, where problem solving, presentations and group discussions were involved.. It was their time to shine..

I got in the office a bit late so didnt have a chance to mingle as everyone was seated in the hall.. There were a total of 33 candidates shortlisted... to my surprise, none of the candidates I had rejected or kept under KIV had been re-called * i felt a bit guilty for being so strict the last time around*

okay... this time around, instructions were again simple.. evaluate them based on their communication skill, interpersonal skill and presentation skill.. I thought everyone was mediocre except a few really outspoken ones, which you could identify right from the start.. However, my gut feeling tells me something fishy about them...yes, they may be outspoken, but certainly dont want smartasses working for you.. they will turn around and bite you in the bum.. u know what i mean...

me: So, can you elect someone from this group to give a 5 minute presentation.
Rocker Kev: hey guys, can I do the presentation? I was born to be on stage and I am sure we will win. So can i do it? pls pleeaseee... i am dyingggggggg to do it!!!!!
group 2: *looking shocked and surprised* okay lor...

wtf? how can he manipulate the group like this? Some of the members were of course pissed, and they too wanted to present.. last I check, this is still a democratic country and he could at least have ask politely and not insist, if nobody wants to do, then fine lah... it's good to be confident, but it's another thing to be a cocky bastard.

After the presentations, we adjourned for lunch where cold Domino's pizza was served.. people were more relaxed and joked around.. some took the opportunity for to suckup to the MD, while some sat quietly, sulking by the corner..

The other half of the day, I was supposed to inspect on my apartment with David, cos the new tenant wants it repainted.. However, when I got there, I was told that the contractors were sent home as the management's policy doesnt allow any renovation work to be carried out on weekends.. bloody hell, if you can't work, at least call and tell me lah.. So, since we were already there, and fought my way through the jam, we treated myself to a foot massage across the street.. ( too bad i didn't bring my camera with me)

Anna: Is this your first time?
me: Yes, does it hurt?
Anna: Yes, if it's your first time, it will hurt but slightly only but dont worry, I will be gentle. I also recommend you for a full body massage, very cheap, now got promotion, if you come on weekdays, only RM75..
me: full body massage? wahh.. sounds interesting.. what does it include?
she slowly cracked my toe, one by one... rubbing more soya bean oil to it...
Anna: Olive oil massage therapy, very relaxing wan, you want special also got..

I have to admit lah, the session was relaxing and it helped me to destress alot.. I didn't even feel any pain, and it was over before I even knew it.. the foot massage lah, what do you think? however, david was screaming and groaning in pain for most of the time.. he kept asking my masseur to apply more pressure, saying i have thick skin la.. Not my fault la if his masseur's arms like Popeye's ok..
